Reconsider difficult programming tasks

Have you ever

thought about something you were trying to build while programming or designing a website or application and started thinking about how difficult it was? I have thought that too but let’s think about something else.

Almost an entire universe in game?

There has been many games such as No man sky that showed how cool was having proceduarlly generated enivroments, planets or even galaxies or universe. But it hasn’t been really built at scale on every aspect, flying, travelling, living. Since 5 year ago(2013) RSI(Robert Space Industries) and CIG (Cloud Imperium Games) have been working on “Star Citizen”.

Star Citizen

Star Citizen is an upcoming massively multiplayer, space trading and combat game. It aims to combine multiple video game genres, including space, trading, flight combat simulation and first-person shooter, in a massively immense vaste huge multiplayer universe online game.

Hard todos

You’ll find things such as:

  • FPS Combat AI
  • Environmental Blending Shader
  • Object Container Streaming
  • FoIP Integration
  • Cloud Tech
  • Repair automated bots
  • Planetary landing
  • Procedural City rendering
  • Server meshing for players
  • Building moons, ArCorp stanton systems, hurston planets and many others…🌏

My conclusion?

I want to go back at playing with unity 5 and unreal engine too. Being able to play and create games or similiar experiences will be much more inspiring and aligned to my desire to work in Virtual Reality. Plus I have recived Unity Pro for 1 year and other stuff by becaming an Oculus Start member.
